Thought-Provoking Triller

- Roger Zotti, The Resident

One of the most impressive scenes in Darryl Nyznyk’s latest novel, The First Gospel, takes place during a televised debate between wealthy Paul Christian, a financial wizard who believes uncontrolled capitalism “will lead to happiness,” and Father Arron Roberts, who believes capitalism without control “will lead to our destruction, that “Without restraints...the pursuit of achievement of material goals will cause people to use any means necessary to achieve them.” A set piece filled with tension, written mostly in dialogue, it illustrates one aspect of Darryl’s masterful storytelling.

Shroud of Turin focus of New Thriller from Manhattan Beach Author

- Michael Hixon - The Beach Reporter

Manhattan Beach author Darryl Nyznyk has been fascinated by Jesus of Nazareth and the mystery surrounding the Shroud of Turin, an ancient linen cloth that apparently covered the body of a crucified man.

“When you speak to people about the Shroud of Turin they think, 'Oh, it's this cloth that covered the face of Jesus, the facial image,” Nyznyk said. “But it really is a cloth that covered the entire body of a crucified man and it has the full body image, front and back. I started looking into that and when "The Da Vinci Code” came out I thought, 'Wow, you can really dig into something like a historical artifact and bring it into the modern world through a compelling mystery.'”.

Darryl Nyznyk | Proof Of God Or Hoax?

- Fresh Fiction Blog

Several years ago, TIME MAGAZINE’s cover story asked the question “Is God Dead?” in our society. While it is generally believed today that somewhere between 75% and 85% (depending upon which poll one reads) of the people in America believe in a supreme being, the belief is trending down, and those beliefs that do exist are varied, from those who say they believe, yet don’t practice any faith, to those who are daily practitioners of their faith, and every combination in between. In the early years of this great country, if polls on the subject had been taken, the likelihood is that the believers would have reached percentages exceeding 99.99% of the population, and the vast majority would have been regular practitioners. The purpose of this post is not to consider the reasons for this decline in belief and what effect that has had on our society. Each of us our own opinion on these questions, and each opinion has a germ of truth to it. The question here is what would happen if there were actually concrete proof of the existence of God? What would that do for our society?

A Writer's Life: Manhattan Beach resident Darryl Nyznyk Recently Published the Thriller ‘The Condor Song’

- The Beach Reporter - Nov. 20, 2013

Manhattan Beach resident and writer Darryl Nyznyk has written novels of murder and suspense for adults, as well as a Christmas tale for the younger reader. His desire to be a storyteller was inspired by the heroes Tarzan and John Carter, from the mind of Edgar Rice Burroughs, to the adventures conceived by Jules Verne.“I love daydreaming. I believe I was going to come up in the bottom of the ninth inning and hit a home run that wins the game or I was going to be whisked off to some land and save a damsel in distress,” Nyznyk said.
